Genomatica is a privately owned, venture-capital funded company. In addition to the financial and technological contributions provided by its founders, the company has enjoyed three successful rounds of venture financing. Genomatica’s initial private financing closed 2001 with an equity investment from Iceland Genomic Ventures. In July of 2007, as the company’s core technology evolved, significant financing was secured from Mohr Davidow Ventures (MDV), Alloy Ventures and Draper Fisher Jurvetson. In March of 2010, TPG Biotech led a third round of venture financing with the full participation of previous investors.
To date Genomatica has raised $40 million from Alloy Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Mohr Davidow Ventures and TPG Biotech, to advance its core platforms and transform the chemical industry.
